Hi Chris. No, it's a micro moth in the family Crambidae. Given the time of year and I can make out a couple of dark blotches on the right hand wing I think it's a particularly dark-looking Rusty-dot Pearl, Udea ferrugalis, but am tagging in Jim @norfolkmoths.bsky.social for a second opinion...

Just to add I’ve now found the book I was looking for, and Chondrus crispus was found at Sheringham and West Runton during this survey, so it’s definitely present in north Norfolk.

Yes I think you're right. I can't find my copy of the guide to east coast seaweeds that Dawn Watson & Rob Spray published, but the distribution on MarLIN (www.marlin.ac.uk/species/deta...) shows it being recorded extensively along the east coast, so range doesn't seem to be an issue.

Hi Matt, just to confirm that we do have a few spare copies, so if you email Tony Leech (norfolknaturalists.org.uk/wp/who-we-ar... ) with your address then he is happy to send you one.

So far, I have 500 specimens of different zooplankton, phytoplankton and protists in the image library. So. Many. More. To. Go. If there’s anything you want to get access to for research or learning, let me know and I’ll prioritise it. #marineplankton 🦑
