That's fine, but think about all the sad kids with nothing under the Christmas tree. Or lonely seniors...
I bought stuff from Amazon on Black Friday and I'm glad I did. I saved about $200 on the computer I needed.
My point is, it's just not very practical to stop buying around these holidays IMHO.

The problem is that many people cannot afford to pay more to shop at a local business. If you can get something on Amazon for $25 that costs $35 at a local store, guess where I'm going to buy it...
If I was rich, okay, then I would buy locally. But who can afford to spend more instead of less?
