If a genie gave Democrats 3 wishes, they'd negotiate it down to 1 wish—then wish for something they think Republicans will like

Democrats continue to prove the stereotype of being feckless appeasers, and we're all worse off for it. We need a true opposition party more than ever—because this aint it

JD's family has spent $35M on vacations.

Kash Patel used a $60M FBI jet to go on a date.

Trump spent $98M to golf for 24% of the days of this term.

ALL WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS.

But you think a single mom getting $6 a day for SNAP is the problem?

Ppl need to understand what's happening here.

The GOP response to the shutdown was: You're gonna cave, or we're going to hurt vulnerable people by shutting off SNAP. The Dems, unwilling to let that happen, caved.

Having watched that, the GOP is now saying: "Give us what we want on abortion or ..."

If I was running for Congress, I would promise to appropriate money for USAID, b/c as far as I am concerned it remains an agency as no-one repealed the statute that created it in 1998. It blew my mind at the time that we were like, yep, sure, we will just close an agency without authorization.
The elimination of USAID was an unforgivable moral atrocity that should haunt Trump, Elon Musk and Marco Rubio for the rest of their days and beyond
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

I think there’s a danger that we are all becoming cognitively impaired at some level by being exposed to this man’s ramblings on an ongoing basis while other people nod along pretending like what he’s saying is totally normal.

I’m not even joking.
Trump: Take a look at this if you want to see detail. Most people do a sign and paint it on the wall. So that's half inch thick bronze. Carved. By a very talented person. And it's brass. It's pure brass.

Let us be incredibly, abundantly clear:

We are demanding that Chuck Schumer resign for his continued betrayal of the American people.

If he does not willingly step aside, we are calling on the Senators in the Dem caucus to remove him and Dick Durbin from Senate leadership.

The only ones surprised by this are Senate Democrats. But rest assured, everyone, they'll 'fight like hell' - by which they mean Chuck Schumer will calculate who can be the ones who publicly vote to cave like wet cardboard. Because only fools actually do the things their base wants!

Really wish I had gotten a better shot of this but holding a phone that says “who else was just ‘following orders’?” up to a riot cop is hard as hell

That being said if there’s not a single member of the Democrats as good at their job as Mitch McConnell has been then it’s time to call it quits on the whole grand experiment
“Oh you think Schumer should step down well what would YOU do in that situation” is my favorite horrible counterargument because a shareholder does not have to personally headhunt a replacement if they vote to oust someone from a board, but if you dislike a politician you better have binders ready

Very disappointed not to see Andy Kim or Cory Booker on this list yet. (I would @ them but BlueSky appears to be having a moment.)
UPDATE — Here are the at least 10 congressional Democrats, 5 Democratic-aligned organizations, and 6 Democratic Senate candidates calling for Chuck Schumer to resign as leader:

Correction, Angus King: Caving in to him gave him more power. Standing up to him was working! Why did you quit? Shame on you for both the original cave and greater shame still for trying to explain why we should cower before a senile would-be dictator!

Your periodic reminder that it’s really really really important to say that members of ICE are going to prosecuted for crimes they commit.

They know they are breaking the law.

You might be surprised by how quickly some of these cowards will react if they know they could face legal consequences.
