I was looking at this map of which animal is the biggest (by weight) in each state and at first I was confused why Ohio’s was the black bear. Bc if you’ve ever seen one irl- they’re really not very big. But I think it’s probably bc as soon as we showed up here we killed anything bigger than it.

I’m not going to write down all 50 (sorry blind people) but going down the west coast from Washington to Mexico it’s the northern elephant seal. Nevada’s is moose, then it’s just the American bison the entire way east until you hit Wisconsin and Michigan- and theirs is moose too. The entire southeast from Arkansas to South Carolina is the American alligator (except Florida which is bison too for some reason) All of Appalachia (including Pennsylvania) is elk. Maryland, New Jersey, and Delaware are the grey seal, and then everything north from New York to Maine is back to moose again. It only leaves the two anomalies of Ohio and Indiana who’s largest animals are the black bear and the white tailed deer respectively

gonna go ride my bike to go run some errands, but I thought I’d take a second to show off this ridiculously overpowered headlamp I rigged up for my messenger bag. These two pictures were taken 2 seconds apart, the only difference is I turned my light on lol 😇

I did that “bluesky year-end wrapped” thing that gives you your posting stats for the previous year, and they generate a visual representation of your most commonly used words.
It’s what I just described. I can’t tell which is number one though- it looks like a tie between the words “bike” and “mean”. oh, and bike being so high up is obviously a no brainer (scroll through my feed for 15 seconds without seeing the word “bike” or some variation of it. You kinda can’t), but I was kind of thrown off initially by “mean”. I tried to think back to try and remember if I was constantly referring to people as “mean” like a 4 year old or something, but I think I just use the phrase “I mean…” a lot? Dunno!
