I guess what I'm saying is that Republicans are unwilling (and we know why) to have an open discussion about what American culture *is* to them.

And explain why they are fundamental to the culture, and how are they actually being degraded by people born outside the US. Does she mean attitudes about living in a constitutional republic? (Citation needed). Or does she just mean her shows have more brown people in the cast? (Cry more, racist)

What would any major outlet like the Times take as true, sincere evidence from anyone not working there that they've messed up? It truly seems like the answer is, "nothing."

I have tried buying antennae and the digital ones they sell now never work. They all insist they have a 50 mile range. I live 30 miles from Chicago. I've never gotten good signal. You can't even really readjust it. It's flat!
