Ack. I was planning to go to Joey's (CPBPD) talk in Houston Sunday but just went to buy tickets and it is sold out. I'd waited to buy them because my husband ended up out of town for field work and return was up in the air, now it is Sunday early afternoon. But can't go now, waited to long! booooo.

I paid $8 for a small honey cinnamon latte the other day. I haven't bought coffee out in months, mostly because I've been using my own espresso maker and going that route. And will continue to do so because it wasn't worth $8! Pair this with Boba teas...and yeah, I don't go anymore.

Two years ago I spent a considerable amount of time digging around into a developer who was buying a previously-leased-from-an-energy-company state park here in Texas. It didn't take long to see that all the rich people know the other rich people, doesn't matter what "side" they are on.

Today my therapist told me I live like 3+ lives and all I could think was yeah, that's definitely correct. I have no idea how to make it just one, though, and not sure I would want to. Anyway, the sessions you go into w/o much to talk about seem to be the most profound.

Question for women/AFAB folks: has anyone else heard or been told you can stop getting a pelvic/pap at 65? My mom was told this by her PCP (new guidelines supposedly) but is incredulous about it. Is it, well, fuck it, you are old already who cares if you get cervical cancer? Or???

This is me every time I hear ads on Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't and then hear Joey railing against something that would have been in those ads in his next rambling when the pod cuts back in. I wish he would change his ad situation up. It is beyond obnoxious.
I've noticed similarly obnoxious ads (eg, sports gambling ads on non-sports pods). Is ad serving just a service for the podcast/network, and whatever comes up gets played? Do pods/networks have veto rights, or is it case by case based on juice (eg, Conan could keep an ICE or gambling ad off)?

Just watched and ICE stop outside my office. I didn't see the people pulled out of the car. Husband told me to come check out "this traffic stop". I knew what it was going to be when I went up but didn't take my phone for photos. Four unmarked SUVs. They were in and out quick.
