This is more burn out coupled with post capitalistic sentiments. The reality of our world is that I must work within this system doing this kind of job in order to maintain my income and live where I want to live. I get to pick my poison but in the end it's still poison all the same.

Doing generic office job for company a doesn't sound any different from doing it for company b. So long as the benefits and pay are right it doesn't matter to me. However, when phrased as you put it I think there is too much opportunity to end up somewhere more objectively miserable.

At this point it's a deep sense of disillusionment with the entire system. I don't think there is another career I could choose which would make me feel any better.

My job has turned into letting AI take meeting notes, which it then summarizes into an email, which is then further summarized by the recipient's AI, and in turn responded to via AI. I knew most of my job was pointless, but this is just salt in the wound.
