I know that EA published it but I'm also giving some blame to Hazelight for that, especially when they're usually quite consumer friendly with their games.

I was literally just about to post about this. That's ridiculous. I think most people expected that Game Keys would replace codes in a box but apparently not.

Unfortunately it may not be. Checking one of Australia's retailers we can see that at least anything Sega wise looks to be a Game Key.

The issue is that it's rumoured to be that there's only a 64GB cartridge option and a "smaller" one which nobody knows if they're meaning a game key or something like 8GB.

Also it doesn't help the fact that Sony just increased the PS5 prices here. I won't lie but next generation I'll probably be looking at just upgrading my PC and having a Nintendo console. Mostly all games on Xbox and Playstation come to PC.

You might want to read the info again.
It's not for all games, it's merely an option for developers and you will be able to tell which games have this an option as it will say it on the case.
