“Don’t Ask. Don’t Tell,” my piece for the Pride Show in Aurora, is so special to me as a queer woman who served in the 90s. I was in love with my battle buddy and risked dishonorable discharge if I told anyone.

The 1st wash of hibiscus tea turned out beautifully! I was inspired by Sophie Scholl and the White Rose to try an all gray portrait using tea and Payne’s Gray. #artsky

I love to paint with teas along with watercolor, and in my experimentation, discovered that hibiscus tea dries to a delicious soft gray perfect for dreamy background washes.

Holy shit! When I saw the incredible Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elaida on WoT, I was strapped in for season 3!! If you love her in this, please watch The Expanse. She is sublime! #wotsky #wheeloftime

Toph and I’ve spent the first hour of every day together for 10 yrs. I’d give her 10 yrs of my life if I could. Happy #Caturday

I enlisted in the Army in 95 at 17 to escape the poverty of my hometown. I left with a permanent disability and PTSD. Im disgusted that ANY veteran would vote for the Nazi stealing from them. The one who called us losers and is cutting off our services.

I’m AuDHD so I both crave and loathe routine. I only feel human if I start each day with coffee and reading with my cat, Toph. She’s 14, merely tolerates anyone that isn’t me, and will peace the fuck out if I start talking to her. She is also autistic.

Satori, one of my mushroom spore paintings, is the poster for March’s Art Bar! I’ve been a proud member for 5 yrs and attend when the planets align and my social battery can stay charged that late. This means a lot to me!

Supporting my favorite Black authors at my local women-owned bookstore! Trying to rebuild a physical library to keep away the despair. If you’re in Aurora, IL stop by Yellow Bird Bookstore and buy a book or prints from local artists (sometimes including me).

Meet Margo the Destroyer. She is the greatest dog that has ever been. She lives in my anus and occasionally emerges to live on the outside of my body when she senses my growing anxiety.

I live in the Chicago suburbs and was witness to the majesty of the 13 and 17 yr cicada broods this summer. I was obsessed with them and watched them emerge at every stage with absolute awe!

“Exuviae” was painted with watercolor and black tea.

Paramount Theater in Aurora has a glorious art gallery and during their run of “Frozen,” I was able to put together a collection for the show. These are my favorites. I’m so grateful to the local art community for these opportunities to share my work in the real world.

THIS is an awkward autistic gesture.

Oh to be a 14 yr old cat who has no idea what is happening today. I’m honestly terrified but I’m trying so hard not to give in to the despair I feel creeping in. Find joy and comfort where y’all can.

I’m too lazy and cheap to buy frames for my art so I just tape those hoes on my wall like the Joey Lawrence posters of my youth. Whoa!

Liminal is my absolute favorite portrait as the mushroom spores settled beautifully on my paper.
