It's a small project but I think I like useful, quick things the best. I missed on the applique a lot and have to address that, but I think it is cuter than what you can buy in stores. I may quilt the sleeves, too, not sure. #quiltsky #sewsky #beginnersewist #uglysweater #christmassweater

My aunt passed a year ago. It was family tradition that she made a quilt to mark important life events. My son was up next for hs graduation. I had to learn to carry on the tradition. This is very touching.

Borders time! Glad I did precut them becysize is much different. A lot of puckering and some points didn't match but I don't care....

I am learning a lot. I didn't realize that the pattern was for a California King until I ran out of material. 😂 Thankfully, I don't want it that big. Just one more row will do, and there is enough for that. Then borders. Man am I learning a lot with this. #quiltsky #beginnersewist #sewing

Only 35 more to go! I have struggled so much to get going on this. Cut myself with the rotary cutter, didn't have enough fabric, lost the pattern multiple times so that I had to request it from the seller...but not I can see it. I believe it is going to be beautiful. #quiltsky #beginnerquilter

Amazing that this will be a quilt. It took forever for me to be brave enough to cut. And I quickly found I am short on the colored material. 😭 But the pattern is such that I can use any coordinating colors. Not pictured...blood, sweat and a few swear words. #quiltsky #beginnerquilter

Jerrica checks out the in progress renovation of the Barbie Dream Cottage for use as a Jem and the Holograms crash pad. However, the 1 inch height difference with Barbie and the band's tendency to wear heels means that they would be mostly confined to the roof, which is currently used by Darci.

I made this mug caddy for a soon to be teaching grad, following a (pretty terrible) you tube tutorial. For such a simple thing, it took me a while. Second one turned out ok. I have a lot to practice with binding. #sewsky #sewing #teachergifts

I followed a tutorial from Chelsea at She Sews Seams to make this duffel. She sews together Dollar Tree dish Matt's. I figured out how to use this pre quilted material that was gifted to me on my local Buy Nothing group. Learning to sew is like growing your own super power. Cost...well under $5.

I followed a tutorial from Chelsea at She Sews Seams to make this duffel. She sews together Dollar Tree dish Matt's. I figured out how to use this pre quilted material that was gifted to me on my local Buy Nothing group. Learning to sew is like growing your own super power. Cost...well under $5.

Since these pieces are already cut, I decided to glue it. Definitely not a great method but considering where I am in my journey, I am not displeased. I have three more to work on this technique I wasn't actually intending to learn yet. It's mine, so errors, who cares.

On the struggle bus with learning to quilt so I bought a kit with precut pieces. Should have watched the seam nesting tutorial to match the points. Not too bad, though. #quiltsky #sewingsky
