In lieu of an official RCS top 50 NA ranking for Rivals of Aether 1 this year, Willow, Meechole, windy, 2JANK, and I will be putting together an NA ranking of our own! We are trying to keep this pretty loose in general, so here is what the current plan is: - Any RoA1 tournament, online or offline, that manages to hit at least 25 entrants in current year (and is in NA) will be considered. Online events will be weighted less during panel decisions but still considered. - Players need to attend 3 tournaments minimum to qualify, and at least 2 of those need to be offline. - At the end of the year we will form a panel to rank the top 25 players. - We're counting tournaments that already happened this year because we need everything we can get. - We're keeping track of tournaments on braacket, if we are missing any please let us know: https://braacket.com/league/2025RoA1NA That's all, thank you!

A YouTube comment I left on a video of Jay Graber's remarks at ATmosphere Seattle 2025 that reads: "She acknowledges criticism that she and Bluesky have received but handwaves it away: "the AT protocol here is what's fundamentally different." How is the AT protocol, which is currently solely controlled by a single company (Bluesky), a company backed by millions of dollars in VC funding from the same wallets of the wealthy investors behind the companies that got us in this mess in the first place, fundamentally different? These are important concerns to address if we are to achieve the goals she is setting, as she later says, "we need a democratic foundation for a digital society." Yet Bluesky solely holds the foundation for AT protocol. And what of the democratic institutions that already exist? The W3C has been a robust, global, and democratic governing body with participation from countries, corporations, universities, and more with control over standards (such as CSS, HTML, XML) that have sewn the fabric of the internet for the last 30 years. W3C has a social protocol, ActivityPub, which already has a multitude of software built atop of it, with millions of users. W3C is not mentioned by Jay despite being a great example of the world she is imagining."
