“Go Birds, Fuck ICE, Free Palestine.”
Look, they’re the ones who ended last week singing “You’re Still The One” at the sci-fi karaoke bar.

I had to “yes, and” that.

Never been a fan of her music, but insofar as I know anything about her as a person I respect her in that regard.

Maybe she’s secretly a shitstain, but the little bit I know she seems like one of the good ones?

I’m not even going to engage in the low hanging fruit stuff about him being a right wing plant.

He could be, but I don’t need to even think about that to feel super suspicious about how he would react to the tiniest bit of lobbyist pressure.

This mf will be taking AIPAC dollars in 5 seconds flat.

I’m not here to “wokescold” (I hate that term, but stipulating). I’m not here to “purity test” (same).

I just don’t trust him. I don’t trust whether he’s changed on the things he says he’s changed on, and I don’t trust that this isn’t just a fucking lazy grift.

I love lefties who want to stick a knife in the establishment as much as the next guy, but anti-establishment candidates are a massive roll of the dice when they don’t exactly have a track record on the issues. Especially in the face of the forces of capital.

This guy’s judgment is questionable af.

And I swear, once again, this is not dunking on kids. We are seeing this at all levels--even grad students. AI + social media has had a profound impact on how we think and process our world, and we can't stop to reflect on it, because billionaires keep hurling addictive tech at us.

Oh, no… feel free to wander, I was just clarifying how this wasn’t the approach I was dealing in.

Which isn’t to say that your angle here is invalid, it’s just not one that I’m engaging in.

I’m making an argument about rhetoric, not courtrooms and lawyering.

My goal here is not to get bogged down in specific legality/jurisdiction or to be tethered to specific implications.

My goal is to be within basic range of being accurate, but primarily to be effective in explaining the gravity of the situation and how these should be grounds for impeachment.

I like having a video doorbell so that I know who’s at the door before I answer. And that’s it.

I hate all the other nonsense that comes with them. And clearly 90% of people can’t handle this technology responsibly.

“Crime isn’t happening to me. BUT LOOK AT ALL THIS CRIME!!” (Data says no crime.)

You are not constantly under attack. There is not a crime epidemic. Your neighbors are just random people.

There is only one generation of people around right now (Millennials) who received enough of an education in the skills of critical thinking and online community navigation to be capable of understanding that you should never trust the ramblings of someone you don’t personally know.

My family was never one to obsess over local crime until the Ring app hit them up 12x a day with social posts from some kooky racist Karen 2.4 miles away who swore she saw hoodlums breaking into the neighbor’s car, when it was really just their teenage kid that locked themselves out.

We’ve seen the imperial boomerang having horrific effects here in the US for decades now… this year more than ever.

Our actions abroad always have ripples that reach us here, and we should really start to consider that (in addition to the first-order issue of reducing our imperial harm elsewhere).
