Trying to pressure a data center in opening in our county to agree to this but unfortunately natural gas is using it as a huge demand boon in the Appalachian region

In our PJM, the PA PUC recently implemented a regulation to make large loads foot 100% of their own bill for power and grid upgrades, so no it doesn’t have to work that way

By this metric, doing this 3,700 times would use up all fresh water on earth, including all ice, vapor, and groundwater

Like this model imagines Hamas as having a consistent base of political legitimacy rather than a base that would eagerly ditch it if it was seen as surrendering for no perceptible improvement
November 29, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Hamas initially gained popularity as a party because the governing party that did this got zilch for doing so, so unless something has changed radically since then, this would just make Hamas similarly neutered and unpopular and give rise to Hamas 2.

The burrito taxi supports the good of the person using it to receive food and the people who get income from that transaction, so those members of the public. But if what you want is a robot that avoids collision or blockages on par with a pedestrian, that's fair. They shouldn't be a nuisance.

But people use sidewalks in ways that aren't building community all the time. Walking to work to trade their labor for income, working out alone to improve their own physical health, and we don't have a general expectation that this devalues the point of sidewalks.
November 29, 2025 at 1:58 PM
As someone in the same position, you're not pretty consistently having to go around groups of people walking along the full width of a sidewalk? I was just in a public meeting where folks were talking about wanting to widen sidewalks because of this

You'd be getting paid to take it! Like the price of garbage is negative

I’m saying that if you want to make a Canadian government you need to do that, not just say we’ve already done it. Get a constitutional convention together and adopt the Canadian system of government but don’t pretend we already have
November 29, 2025 at 5:06 AM
You gave me a first principle that the parts of the Constitution (that invents Congress) that are operative are the parts Congress says is operative. That kind of circularity invites tail chasing.
November 29, 2025 at 5:05 AM
What is it that makes the part that says we have a congress operative?
November 29, 2025 at 5:03 AM
Aside from that this would make literally all congressional enactments constitutional. Congress says the first amendment lets you ban flag burning? Then so it is. That’s not a constitution that protects rights anymore.
November 29, 2025 at 5:01 AM
My point is that having a thing called a Congress can only happen because of Article I of a Constitution that already exists, and that exists prior to the body it creates saying that Article I is real and not one of the fake parts that isn’t real
November 29, 2025 at 4:59 AM
What’s a Congress? You need a document first that says what that is, how we know who’s in it, and the stuff it can do.
November 29, 2025 at 4:58 AM
For that matter if you want to do a new constitutional convention a la 1789, you’re gonna need a lot more buy in and that’s gonna include from the people you’re talking about wanting to disempower. With those kind of legitimating margins you could amend the Constitution already
