It sucks because this was posted by someone who self-describes as a leftist and I couldn't be more disappointed and ironically, not surprised. If we keep insulting others for their shortcomings and keep writing people off as stereotypes we won't get anywhere. We'll just keep circling the drain.

Stop pretending you are smarter or better then others. Learn some fucking humility for once and don't infantilize others. There's a great XKCD comic about someone not knowing something, and instead of mocking them, the artist encourages you to show them, to make their lucky day.

Also there are plenty of people who don't learn to care for themselves until later in life (or learn it in bits and pieces), but they should not been seen as lesser people, or especially seen a fucking stereotype. Guess what, people can learn and grow. Insulting them does not help.

Plenty of people have major life events (or changes) later in their life. Job, relationships, death, even as small as having a phone or internet or television. So they grow as persons because of those. People learn to cook later in life too! Experience new things!
