Adult chess improver. Grob is the worst opening - don't play it! Adolf Anderssen +-

I didn't see Qc8 Qd8, QxQ RxQ, Rc6?
Qc8+ Rxc8, Rxc8+ Bf8, Bh6+ Qe7, RxB QxB, BxQ -> better endgame?
Play against human opponents, save the money, let the creators of useless projects like Chessiverse go bankrupt. What else? Get a book, study chess and get stressed.
If you want a stress-free environment, just give up on chess.
"A 500 can win" by not dropping a piece every next move and by taking a piece whenever it's offered.
I think they make conscious efforts to explain in plain English what they are doing (getting a center, developing minor pieces). Be more humble
Bf4 seems natural (and d6 is weak)
Bg5 gives Black counterplay, precisely because it's not that active, like a4...
After Bf4 Nh5?, Nxc6! (Nf5+ is weaker but easier to see) is a great calculation exercise
Thank you! Love the game collection and the photos! It's a wonderful introduction for someone who doesn't know him!
Ulf Andersson - Michael Basman 🤣
Fantastic! Do you happen to have the game and the blog? I'm very interested - and I love your writing (been reading your posts on chess com for years now). I've started recently to watch his Youtube channel. Thank you!
This passive h6 transpires in other variations, too.

I've never played against 5... Qf6!? before
6. 0-0 (standard move) h6? (instead of developing)
7. e5

Ofc, it's bullet & blitz repertoire

I would've played b4. Let's say cxb, cxb Qxb and now Qxh5. My impression is that Black's position is super clogged.

Everybody knows that I'm absorbed with Basman's games

This is from 1982 (against David Rumens, Kings Head International, London), a King's Gambit

White to move
Why is Grob's Attack named after Henri Grob?
In the ChessBase Database, he has no games with White starting with 1.g4.

That's because he played lots of correspondence games featuring the Grob. Out of 121 games with White, 118 start with 1.g4.

It's also because he published Grob's Angriff in 1942.
"Find the active moves" - I haven't heard that in a long time.
I'd love to study Yusupov next year, I got the books but my time is very scarce
Black doesn't have to play Bxh6. Let's say g4 Qf4, Be7 - what are White's plans after that? Also, I thought the threat was Bh6 (to push g4). h6 as a threat is too elusive for me.
Rf5 (if Qxe4 Re4 and the bishop is lost)
I posted the video on X before deciding to quit the platform. I'm glad that FT disseminated it to a larger audience.

I've had so much fun playing Center Game (Scotch) with the suboptimal Bd3 (-> Greek Gift).
4 ...Bc5 is the most played here.

White can proceed safely with 5. 0-0 (or c3 bxc3, Nxc3 (or 0-0 cxb2, Bxb2).

A high risk move is 5. Ng5 h6? (pretty common),
Nxf7 Kxf7
Qh5+ -> Qxc5 -> Qa3
Caveman creativity, I really enjoyed it!
Qd4+ Ke6, Qd5 #
Very nice!
