Best case scenario, both parties find a compromise; I don't see what would fundamentally prevent this.

Worst case, you would spin a nonprofit org off of Core that only cares about managing a store for ALL PebbleOS manufacturers. No conflicts of interest this way.

As a user, I don't want a new store that is controlled by an entity that might not make enough money to justify running a store in two years time; they way it's been described, Core is here to make a few new batches of watches but nothing much bigger, so I don't trust it to be here in ten years.

As a developer, I'm not okay with Core appropriating my creation to make money off of it (even indirectly). Rebble is a nonprofit, and that's what nonprofits are good for. Afaik Fitbit/Google have boughts the rights to it, not Core.
