Four Thoughts on Sheffield Wednesday (p)1-1 #LUFC

Not much joy to be found. Can't blame Farke entirely, but can't ignore his track record either. The recruitment team best be crossing their fingers, and hopefully our goalkeepers can get theirs in some sort of order.

I thought, for a brief moment, he'd get us through to the end of the season. Then Crystal Palace happened...

Great excuse to get to Garforth if you haven't before. If you follow my Instagram, I've been trying to follow #LUFCW much more actively (not that easy, as I wrote about for the Square Ball this month); they've had a solid start to the season and this is a good chance to make ground in the FA Cup.

An exciting draw for #LUFCW

Will you be there?! 💙💛🤍 #lufc

Absolutely. No issue with the efforts to stay in games and get those points. Just something I thought could be attempted in the future.
paddygunn.bsky.social
True, very true. To be clear, I'm not saying Farke *should* have done this; just something I thought could be tried in the future. I think Piroe has something to offer in this division - I'd hate to see him left out for good.

You look at B'mouth and think, with the amount of players they were throwing forward, maintaining some kind of attacking threat might have kept them honest. Everyone would expect to go 6-4-0, but why not go from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2? Or 4-2-3-1 with Piroe at 10? Even if just to make the opposition think.
paddygunn.bsky.social
I'd like to see Piroe coming on when we're winning, every now and again, to stretch the game and keep the opposition from piling everyone forward. It worked really well in the Champ (I know that doesn't mean it will in the Prem); JP is great at finding those pockets of space for counters.

It's the response after she's been corrected as well. "Yes, many people voted to Remain."

No, Kemi, the *majority* voted that way.

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

It is genuinely scary how willing people are to accept tyranny. Very rarely is it even thinly-disguised; most of them are very happy to show you exactly what they're going to do, and yet we keep putting them in charge.

I'd say we were sleepwalking towards autocracy, but - in many cases - we're already there, and we've done it with full awareness of who we've been putting into positions of power. If we ever end up with Farage as PM, I'm not sure how I could align myself with the country again.

If any #LUFC fans live near Hallevik, and have a spare couch/floor to sleep on, let me know.

If Mjallby, who represent the tiny, tiny village of Hallevik, beat Elfsborg on Saturday (or better Hammarby's result), they will win their first ever Allsvenskan title. To call it a shock would be hugely understating just how tiny this place is. We're talking 1.5k inhabitants, max. #LUFC

If you read my piece on @thesquareball.net, you'll know #LUFC are involved at both ends of the Allsvenskan this season.

Mjallby, owned by Leeds fan Magnus Emeus, could win a miraculous title on Saturday, while Varnamo (home of Messrs Antonsson & Cibicki) could find themselves down.

Having read more about this period recently, I'm amazed at how confident and assured Charlton was about himself at such a young age. No fear, knew how good he was, and would hold his own even 10 years before this. Incredible mentality.

Four thoughts on #LUFC 2-2 Bournemouth.
paddygunn.bsky.social
Well that ended up looking very good indeed.

Pleased for Okafor in particular, as I was one more loss of possession away from driving to Wolverhampton and slapping him myself.

Found myself randomly watching all the goals from that first Prem season under Bielsa.

Hard to believe just how good it was.

Willy hits are as bad as it gets.

Farke needs to stop hitting players at training, then. #LUFC

DF: "Mixed news. Lucas Perri out for the game. Reported problems with quad after last game. Muscle strain. Misses next two and then we will see. Nmecha hit on his foot. Missed training yesterday. Piroe hit on his calf. Little doubts." #lufc

Last thing on #LUFC and Sweden for now (I think).

Leeds are - kind of - involved at both the bottom and top of the Swedish top-flight.

Featuring Marcus Antonsson, Pawel Cibicki, and someone calling Junior Firpo the worst left back we've ever had.

Onto the schedule for tomorrow's drive. Absolutely loved their first album, but felt they've struggled to find their footing since.
