Yeah, by ‘complicated’ I meant having to have separate travel insurance for health cover in other provinces. The only time I buy travel insurance is for international travel.
Except for NZ where their ACC* covers us for any accident injury health needs.

Sounds complicated. I love our universal Medicare. Except I reckon the private hospitals/insurance added on is a waste of time, money & resources.
Re. train gauges change and your surprise. We have not needed to do that between Melbourne & Sydney since 1962 🤔

Australia may have had different railway gauges in different states(still does largely) as a legacy of Victorian-era colonies. However we did not have any state-based restrictive trade rules. Specifically outlawed in our Constitution.

Your Green vote will still most likely result in a vote for one of the majors, because of preference distributions (most likely the Lying Nasty Party or the Miners’ Party in that region).

Currently planning to lodge a blank paper at the next election, at least for the House of Reps, as I do NOT want to give ANY preferences to the major parties, nor to nut-job right-wing ferals 🤬
I may give a marked ballot for the Senate.

My EV has been to the snow once so far. I had to fit chains (RWD) and even then I used the snow-mode, which slowed accelerator response and restricted speed to about 40kmh.
What I see there is a loony driver revving and spinning 🙄

I know stuff-all about Cybertrucks and very little about 4WDs generally, but what I see in that video is a vehicle with suburban tyres, not off-road tyres. It certainly has AWD, but no idea about the mode of operation.

Not defending any SwastiKar, but this situation is not really the car's fault:
1. Suburban tyres = FAIL.
2. No snow chains = double FAIL.

She then danced about on the nature-strip trying to get the spider off herself. GREAT entertainment for the people in the 2-3 cars stopped behind us 🤪
Worrying thing is - WHAT would she have done if we were driving along at 80 kmh? 🤔😱
November 27, 2025 at 2:28 AM
The staggering thing was the follow-through. My wife screamed, threw the door open and jumped out of the car. Thankfully we were stopped at a 'stop-sign'. I look about, bemused, saw the spider scrabbling on the car seat, and promptly flicked it out the door.... straight into my wife's chest! 🤣
