None of which can be easily labeled with a simple dollar amount, so it’s often assigned no value at all and dismissed as “something you do with crayons when you’re a kid” or a “phase you grow out of”, as if to say “We’ll only take this seriously when it makes money”

As practiced artists know, the reward for making art is (all too) rarely compensation, but the freedom of expression, the emotional exploration, and the joy of being creative; setting your soul on fire and dancing naked around the flame, feeling truly alive.

The main fault in this logic is the idea that all “good” or “worthy” art needs to look a certain way or meet a certain standard to be rewarding (again I.e. make money).

These people see that end goal and are intimidated by the path leading to it because a.) it’s hard to train at that skill for long enough to be that good and b.) reaching that level of skill is not a guarantor of success amid an already stacked field of professionals with decades of experience.

Oh my god Tien finally using the kaioken would be so broken. I almost want a hand-waving excuse that he didn’t use it against the saiyans because it would have been too easy or something. I can’t imagine the type of threat he can’t just ki-ko-hose down by himself
