Indeed. We didn't realise this post would go international. We were referring to March 15 2019.

There absolutely is. They believe that white women should have as many children as humanly possible.

We are deeply concerned about the other accelerationist neo-Nazis in the NZ Defence Force and the lack of political will to remove them. We know of at least four Action Zealandia members who have served or are currently serving in the defence forces.
James Fairburn, the leader of Action Zealandia, and sometime member of the NZ Army Reserve Force

The espionage soldier spent much of his time under arrest posting hate speech on Telegram, playing video games, and spawning two children. As with many of his fellow neo-Nazis, he formally converted to Traditionalist Catholicism.

Billy Wilson aka Saxon is also a rapper. His lyrical themes include his hatred of Samoans, Islanders, Chinese people, Jewish people, Queer people and "mouthy brown girls"; celebrating colonial massacres of Māori, joking about the holocaust, and calls for violence to inspire a "European revival".

He also hosted a neo-nazi podcast with Wellington visual artist and Action Zealandia member, Billy Wilson.
Billy Wilson used the name "Darth Rahowa", which is Nazi slang for "Racial Holy War".

The espionage soldier was a founding member of Action Zealandia, and set up their chat groups and recruited for them. He also made fawning posts about the Chch shooter. He was arrested before his planned to trip to Russia, following in the shooter's footsteps.
Forum post from "Jim Young", a pseudonym of the espionage soldier about Breton Tarrant. It reads "His letter was so beautiful. He so has my handwriting. And the tour he described that he went on is literally exactly what I'm doing over Christmas. Am I bt. I'm even doing the golden circle tour

"Wolfe" was a member of the Action Zealandia, Dominion Movement, and Wargus Christi neo-nazi groups.
RNZ has incorrectly reported these groups as "nationalist".
There is plenty of evidence that all 3 groups are neo-Nazis, with members praising Hitler, the holocaust and March 15.

The soldier had reasonable opsec, but had left enough clues for several anti-fascists to independently and categorically link the codename "Johan Wolfe" with his real-life identity.
The intelligence services were more interested in harrassing Muslims and peace activists.

We did this because we were concerned that the soldier, as an armourer in the NZ army, had access to large amounts of weapons he could use in a copycat "accelerationist" mass murder similar to the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.

Yesterday, New Zealand Police revealed they didn't start investigating the espionage soldier until after March 15.
Several anti-fascist researchers reported his online activity to the New Zealand Defence Force prior to the Christchurch massacre. 🧵

In a version of photo outside library posted to AZ’s Telegram account, also notable that individual in it (on, literally, the far-right!) makes same white power/supremacist hand gesture as ChCh perpetrator did when he appeared in court. It is a hate symbol, openly shown. www.adl.org/resources/ha...

Their banner appears to be created with the same stencils as one outside Tūranga of Christchurch City Libraries last year. This points to a co-ordinated national campaign against LBGTQ in libraries.

Neo-Nazis are nasty transphobes, but they go further than other transphobic bigots.
They believe in a conspiracy that Jewish people are funding and encouraging a transgender movement to undermine a Christian-dominated white supremacist hegemony.

Notable local antisemites Benn Conner, James Rossiter, and Nick Wells were present.

Yesterday, young men disrupted a family-friendly event at Hamilton Libraries featuring a visiting cartoonist. They yelled obscenities and assaulted a small child. They then provided videos and photos to the person running Action Zealandia's Telegram account. 🧵

Aotearoa also has a long history of challenging extremism and racism, from the Haka party incident to deplatforming white supremacists Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux through huge public pressure and a fierce but peaceful protest.
Protesters against the right-wing Canadian's Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux turned out in numbers at Aotea Square even though the event was cancelled in 2018.

Hate crimes and hate speech against Pasifika peoples are underreported in the media and to the police.

Antisemitic conspiracies and speech are normalised among the conspiratorial and far-right milieu in Aotearoa.

Julian Batchelor's words are part of a phenomenon known as stochastic terrorism, which is the public demonisation of a group that incites random violence against that group. There is a significant risk to Māori from a follower incited by Batchelor's rhetoric.

Julian Batchelor is singled out for his efforts to increase violent hateful rhetoric. He speaks about a conspiracy of "Māori elite" in the way antisemites talk about Jewish people.

There's been a rise in attacks targeting Māori and the Rainbow Community, with roots in conspiracy theories and white supremacist beliefs.
There was an absence of events related to public health prior to 2020. These events peaked in 2022 and had nearly vanished by 2023.

The willingness of individuals to adopt COVID-19 conspiracies created a cognitive opening that extremists and fringe political leaders were keen to capitalise on.

There has been an ongoing failure by frontline police and station staff to identify hate-motivated incidents accurately.
Incidents often initially attract attention because a victim or bystander posts about them on social media, and their post goes viral.
