So day 1 spoils! This is probably the end of advent reporting, but I hope you're enjoying whatever treats are at hand, and revel in opening whatever tiny doors present themselves.

No spoilers on the Clue calendar, there's also. A bag of goodies to work with.

Ikea kicks us off with a vanilla truffle.

The grinch cocoa calendar fails on the primary assignment: Little Doors, instead opting for windows. It's also fundamentally not an advent anything with 12, but last year demonstrated that I don't actually want hot chocolate *every* day, so calling it a win.

I had the cat puzzle last year. I put it away in a more interesting order, but it was a good one last year.

Walker's also starting in the upper left, with a chocolate chip round on the first day.

Trader Joe's chocolate starting in the upper left corner, revealing a chocolate boot.

Today's cheese is truffle cheddar, a reasonable start.

Up first: It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber hits the ground of Nakatomi Plaza! He begins his descent on day 1.

Advent, day 1, 2025. I have no intention of keeping up the documentation, but we absolutely get a first-day tour! #tinydoors #adventcalendar

So... took a bit, but I did this thing, and it is good. (@mostlybree.kitrocha.com for good measure...)

My foccacia is filled with garlic butter and cheese, and @mostlybree.kitrocha.com is partly to blame. 😸

I mostly went to Costco today to get naan and food court dinner that wouldn't result in dirty dishes... but these adorable pajamas snuck home with me. (August is *far* too hot for them. But soon...)
August 21, 2025 at 3:30 AM
I made foccacia as an extended version of pomodoros for myself this afternoon/evening (every 1.5 hours you have to go do a thing with the dough!). Also, honey goat cheese. #3doughs60recipes

I... need to put the foccacia away now.
August 9, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Fundamentally, this is @mostlybree.kitrocha.com 's fault. (I have other enablers, but...) I made foccacia tonight. (From 3 Doughs, 60 Recipes.)

I was encattened.

Rupert has been home alone Quite Enough, thank you.

Update on my obsession-cheese: this is it, at Trader Joe's, and it is good. (And, you know, doesn't get you down the rabbit hole of ordering boxes of cheese from Wisconsin.) This cheese has become an important pillar of my life.

A delightfully creepy read from @tkingfisher.com! (I did make good choices last night about whether continuing to read a horror novel into the night at a catholic retreat center in a former monestary. It was much better to face the teeth in the light of day.)

To combat fury and despair... bright pink shoes.

Today there was oven (coping) cheese! It is delicious and melty while also being cohesive (texturally a lot like haloumi). Would absolutely stand up to being dipped in things. Very yummy, do recommend.
