This tracks for me, as someone in a low-income industry and community. Everyone around me knows that you absolutely cannot cross that income threshold where you lose healthcare or childcare assistance. It’s how all of my peers function. It also promotes under-the-table gigs like crazy.

I’m limited to the small, northeast veggie farm community but I’ve noticed that the more bio intensive farms aren’t rotating as much. A bed might be cropped 4-5x/ season + economic focus on salad mix complicates rotations.
