Had a book published before mid-2021? Take 5 minutes to see if it's listed here and if so another 5 to enter info. And look up your grandma's book, the book of your friend, etc. and let them know

We're still trying to raise $246 this year to cover expenses, if you're feeling generous.

We'll never charge a submission fee, and we pay our writers.

Your help will also ensure that we can bring on a guest editor in the new year, to avoid that whole 'monolithic voice' business 💛🖤

Thank you. 🐝

Happy non-binary day and week!

We're a small mag publishing non-binary, genderqueer, and two-spirit writers.

If you'd like to help us out, we're currently working towards our goal for paying writers for this and next year.

Shares are very much appreciated, too!

Read my little story online here!

I'm still so happy this found such a perfect home. One of the few stories that I wrote without prompts and/or a deadline, just a growing appreciation of nature coupled with a growing heartbreak over how we treat it. Go hug a tree today 💚

If you could paint the Mona Lisa a new smile, what would it look like? Thanks to Leo Covault, you've got options. We're obsessed with his paper doll illustrations for our latest issue, feat. CNF by Max Fischer.

Shoutout to our friend Garrick for giving in to the impulse to assemble this one. 💌
Volume 55 is titled "A Certain Florentine Woman Died in the Plague of 1538" Art by Leo Covault. The Mona Lisa is disassembled as a paper doll, with different hairstyles, smiles, and clothing options. A quote from the story by Max Fischer: "Her body was stolen, then recovered in 1913. Denizard wiped the fingerprints from the curves of her neck with his own retouches to prevent her aging. In 1970, they found teardrops wept in 1503 and insects eroding her frame, beechwood replaced with maple replaced with sycamore and metal. Five hundred years of humid stench breathed over her exposed skin and of eyes and iPhones pilfering her face buckled the poplar panel, a misshaping no carbon tetrachloride treatment could prevent."

"The radio plays a melody from the past; I’m only half listening. I’d say it makes me think of you, but that is only part true. There’s an 88% chance we exist as a series of unexpressed possibilities—here, now, then, everywhere."

A little love poem to wrap up your week: paranoidtree.com/read/vol-53
An image of a radio tower with a red light at the top, shaped like a heart. This is volume 53 of Paranoid Tree, with a poem by Ana Reisens and art by Vivian Steckline. Find the issue online & in print at paranoidtree.com.

The front side of Vol. 53 depicts an airplane taking off into the sky, above a radio tower. The red light at the top of the tower is shaped like a heart. The back side of vol. 53 contains the author and artist bios. A close-up of a single folded issue of vol. 53, as it would appear in the mailbox of our print subscribers.
