I watched it then and even have it on dvd now.

Talking to people then and even years later many agreed that the scene that chilled them was watching the US missiles launching out of their silos in fields, and the visual of them leaping through the sky over the local townsfolk.
Tonight in 1983, more than 100 million Americans saw multiple thermonuclear weapons destroy Kansas City, Missouri, in “The Day After” on ABC. A.C. Nielsen Company reported that 62 percent of television sets that night were tuned to the film. I watched in my packed college dorm lounge. How about you?

just learned that worcestershire sauce was invented when some scammers made an inedible "indian" sauce that smelled so bad they abandoned it in the basement and discovered when they were reorganizing that it didn’t taste bad after sitting in the dark for two years, the most english story imaginable
