I would like to see somebody elaborate a bit on the connection between the emptying of rural areas in the early-mid 2010s and the housing affordability situation in popular urban areas now. I can’t say for sure whether there’s something there but IIRC it seems like there should be.

They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.

One little way I’m going to remember 2025 is as the year that 9/11 jokes became mainstream humor. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten such a precise calibration of how much time it takes for tragedy to become comedy before. Apparently the answer is 23-24 years.

This is a good point. Murkowski was too fringe and Alaska is too weird to get this job done, but MTG might just able to break the dam.
I think you do have to root for MTG here because the sooner a high-profile R actually in the government gets this treatment and survives the sooner the whole thing falls apart

The Eagles make perfect sense to me as a sometime MMA fan because “grindy control-oriented guy with minimal offense who keeps winning tight controversial decisions” is a well-established archetype.

The Eagles have now brought in two different veteran defensive players only to have them abruptly retire. I can never prove it but my theory is that the rest of the team is too young, and the veteran guys don’t realize until they get here how old it’s gonna make them feel.
