I’ve had more souring experiences at US Customs than any other country I have travelled to.
People often say Customs officers have too much power. I don’t necessarily think it’s that they have too much power; but that US officers in particular feel a need to show everyone how much power they have.

More than one generation.
I know people have short memories, but I expect this will be taught in history classes and at military colleges. Not to mention how important a lesson this is about the frailty of alliances.
Countries will no longer assume another to be their protector.

Why only Democrats? Surely among today’s Republicans, there is a Sen. Howard Baker Jr. — an unassailable voice— who can ask the hard questions and turn the tide. Perhaps someone who is already planning not to run again?

I think (hope?) killing ACA subsidies will backfire big time, on the GOP and potentially also the for-profit healthcare industry. This could create the tipping for universal single-payer healthcare.

How tender was it?
I find it incredibly hard to end up with a tender result when cooking duck. My best success has been using sous vide. But smoking would definitely add flavour that sous vide does not.
