Also enjoyed Sean O'Hagan supporting Mercury Rev. Really like Microdisney but High Llamas kind of passed me by. I'll be correcting that after an enjoyable support set last night.

The Waterboys were great last night at the Glasshouse in gateshead. I really liked how they presented their new album and still played a good portion of oldies. Still a vital vibrant live band.

Enjoyed Stockton Calling yesterday. Maximo Park excellent as always. Pretty much a festival set for a hometown(ish) gig. Other highlights for me were Swannek, Nature Kids and Home Counties. A great day out although the cancellation of the last train home put a bit of a downer on the day.

Hayden Thorpe at glasshouse in gateshead on Thursday night.
I'm a long-time wild beasts fan and his new album Ness is different. He's being brave and ambitious with his new music. I enjoyed his show a lot.
