My post-advice surgery chips and gravy ritual in the Springcafe - it transports me back to the old Springburn Shopping Centre City Bakeries after the swimming as a wee guy!

Good doorknocking session in Dennistoun with Cllr McDougall.

Nice to have such positive feedback on the work we've done to help people in the community and a few more issues were raised about private factors.

The Buffalo Bill statue marks the spot where he performed in 1891! 🦬

200 years ago today, the first passenger train ran between Stockton and Darlington.

Six years later, Scotland’s first railway service began on the Garnkirk & Glasgow Railway.

It passed through Springburn, which soon became the world's biggest centre of locomotive manufacturing.

My free historical walking tour of Springburn Park and Springburn Winter Gardens is back for Doors Open Day this Saturday at 1pm - meeting at the park gates on Broomfield Road.

There's also a public meeting at 4pm on Sunday in the Springburn Auditorium shed about the plan to restore Winter Gardens

🏘️It has been over a year since a Labour motion in the Scottish Parliament forced the SNP to declare a housing emergency.

📉Yet, the number of affordable homes being built has actually fallen.

As a former young hospitality worker in a Glasgow restaurant, where our tips were confiscated by management, solidarity with these young @unitescotland.bsky.social workers striking for the real living wage rate of £12.60 per hour, paid breaks, and backdated pay for under 21s

I have signed a letter to the British Government, along with my fellow Scottish Labour parliamentarians, requesting that the UK recognise the State of Palestine.

It is an essential act to secure an enduring peace and end to the ongoing genocidal horror we are witnessing in Gaza.

🚍Alexander Dennis is a Scottish manufacturing success story. Exporting buses around the world. As a country, we should be proudly backing our industrial champion.

Yet, perversely, the Scottish Government is subsidising foreign competitors to destroy our bus manufacturing base👇🏻

A planning application has been made to demolish the Category B-listed façade of the former McCorquodale’s Printing Works on Maxwell Street.

They claim the façade is beyond viable repair. I am challenging this.

Glaswegians should be rightly proud of these magnificent Victorian legacies rather than embarrassed by their dilapidated condition.

The official opening of the Janet Harvey Hall – one of the biggest buildings in Europe – at Govan Shipyard is the culmination of more than a decade of work to transform shipbuilding on the Upper Clyde to make it a globally competitive force again🏗🛳

HMS Glasgow, the first in class of the new Type 26 Frigates, was named yesterday at Scotstoun Shipyard, taking the name of the city that built her.

A proud day for thousands of people who have worked to design and build these ships over the last 15 years.

HMS Glasgow belongs to us.
