The original Let It Die was famous for its absolutely amazing soundtrack. Akira Yamaoka went and got in touch with a HUNDRED of his favourite indie bands and commissioned each to do a track named 'let it die'. The result was borderline mystical.

Was not prepared for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii to have a full blown musical number within the opening hours but I'm all for it. Instantly shoots the game into the top 5 at least.

Additional point: Clair Obscur's third act is a thematic loop about how delaying the inevitable isn't healthy. You may feel temporarily good, you might even feel like a God among ants, but all you're doing is becoming a rotting husk and running away from inevitability.
Seeing other narrative design people say that Clair Obscur had a bad 3rd act or bad ending(s)…I just can’t follow you there man. That shit ruled. Sorry. You break the combat wide fucking open and then get your choice of doing genocide or walking toward Omelas and saying “torturing that child rocks”

the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

Was having zero luck on Cloverpit and was considering putting it down...until it clicked this last game. I've definitely seen some absurd results out there but best I've ever managed!

Persona 3 Reload wrapped up. I loved that, a lot. What a bittersweet ending. Given my current feelings lately, I appreciated how much the game dealt with loss, seeking purpose and the grief that comes with losing or not finding it, and how to keep living past that. On to Episode Aigis.
