💰 A work posted online in July 2024 (arxiv.org/pdf/2407.16551) is making news at the start of 2025. It estimates that globally, a total of $8.968 billion were spent on article processing charges (APCs) for open access between 2019 and 2023.

🌱 A growing community

🌍 Started by three members of the same laboratory (UMR PNCA), the PCI hashtag#Nutrition is now made up of 32 recommenders from a dozen countries with a wide range of expertise in nutrition

There are now 19 thematic PCIs but many disciplines remain to be covered! We are therefore making a call for the creation of new thematic PCIs and giving some information on how to start:

✊ With PCI Nutrition, and the 17 other PCIs, we are contributing to the evolution of research practices towards an open, rigorous, reproducible and transparent science following a diamond model.

🌍 PCI #Nutrition is made up of 28 recommenders (a role very similar to that of a journal editor) from a dozen countries with a wide range of expertise in nutrition!

📝 Contributions related to research #Protocols in nutrition, which provide a methodological foundation for advancements in the field, are welcome.

💰 Perspectives from #ManagementSciences, #Economics, #PoliticalSciences, and #Humanities are considered to contribute to a comprehensive analysis of #FoodSecurity and #FoodSystems at large (macro) levels.

🧠 The fields of #Neuroscience, #ConsumerScience, #Psychology, #CognitiveScience, and #SocialSciences will be used to gain a better understanding of #EatingBehaviours. Behavioral aspects are also examined through the lens of #ExperimentalEconomics and #EducationSciences.
