So if the feds can’t help and we can’t force this PC government into taking action, our only hope is that the NDP or the Libs can get it together in time for the next election (whenever that may be) and Ontarians get out and vote to protect our essential social systems. Not holding my breath.

Maybe the Canada Health Act could be reviewed and revised to permit more oversight. I’m not suggesting there’s a simple solution but it seems to me that money earmarked for healthcare should be used for healthcare.

Agreed. There’s definitely a huge system heading our way over Lake Huron but it appears to be swinging in a more northerly direction. Local forecast remains unchanged 🤞🏼

The blame for misuse of funds falls squarely on our provincial government, but the solution lies with the federal government. We need to see checks and balances on the federal transfer of funds designated for healthcare.

Watching the absolute nightmare that passes for healthcare in the US, I am appalled by this direct attack on our healthcare system in Canada. It absolutely needs work, but privatization is not the way.

Agreed. What a relief! Let’s move on now. It’s well past time to start working together for the greater good. Let’s hope this minority federal government is capable of doing that.

I was shocked when he won again. Smart to call that election in Feb., suppressed the turnout even more. People vote for who they know. I would love to see Mike Morrice from the Green Party run. He only lost in Kitchener because of strategic voting but he is experienced, popular and very engaged.

Never say never. He’s given us numerous reasons to kick him to the curb, but we seem to be an apathetic bunch here in Ontario when it comes to voting. A better candidate from either of the other parties would definitely help though.

Great, they can have him. He will never be PM either and maybe Ontario will smarten up and elect a premier who will actually work for the province and not the donors.

I predict this will backfire spectacularly for the Cons if they pursue that path. While I’d love to see it, I’d rather the NDP take a good look at the full budget and get onboard.
