There are so many incredible stories in our shared history of Canadians coming to the aid of Americans and Americans coming to the aid of Canadians. Reflecting on moments like these, are what makes this shocking betrayal so incomprehensible to so many.
🇨🇦 I am thinking about Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor, our lead diplomat in Tehran at the time of the 1979 Iranian revolution. And how he and his wife, at no small risk to themselves, sheltered and hid 6 Americans, for 3 months, who managed to avoid being kidnapped as the US embassy was overwhelmed.
