Implemented this morning. I also fixed the missing --stdio flag. Hopefully, these PRs get merged soon 🙏

Yep. i think ill fetch the checksum from the TXT file instead. Then you’ll only have to download one tiny TXT file. Ideally, the upstream library zed_extension_api would provide the GitHub release asset digest but it doesn’t and it‘s using some WASM magic I’m too scared to touch 😄

Unfortunately, the release has very little info, just the version and download link I think. I checked the v0.2 source code of the zed_extensions_api dependency and it’s very minimal. Ideally we’d have the digest already, I agree, but we only get it as part of the checksums txt file or manually

I created a PR in the Elixir extension to use the checksum instead of the nightly "version" which should fix this issue:

Download nightly builds to checksum-based folder instead of version-based by PJUllrich · Pull Request #43 · zed-extensions/elixir
Should close #42
Instead of downloading the nightly build to always the same folder Zed/extensions/work/elixir/expert-nightly which doesn't overwrite the existing installation since the -nightl...

Sounds cool! But can I use this thing in my regular editor (Zed) or is this purely CLI-based (Claude Code is a CLI tool, right?)

thanks for the workaround but wouldn’t this be better fixed in the Zed extension of Expert?

I'll give you an extra one for free!
"Sich durchwursteln"
(to sausage oneself through something)
Basically, if you need to do something and it's messy and complex and hard, but you get yourself through regardless, that's "sich durchwursteln"
