This is a great time to learn #robotics! Robot AI has advanced to where a novice like myself can build / train this folding robot in my garage. The tech is not perfect, but it is improving *very quickly* (exciting new papers daily), and will likely be ubiquitous within 2-3 years.
HUGE: Google Colab can now run inside VS Code.
Which means you can:
- run ML/training jobs on (~free) Google Cloud TPU straight from VSCode
- use your favorite AI coding tools (Cursor, Cline etc) with your Colab notebook.
Just install new extension from Google - I tried it and it works.

Grout is a complete scam. If your shower didn't have tiny tiles, then there would be no shower cleaners, no sealants, no chalking, no mildew. Entire sections in Home Depot gone, all co's run by Big Grout.

Penpot is like Figma but free (to generous limits) OR self-hosted.
I've used it for ~2 days and its quite good.

High schoolers wear the same gigantic jeans that I wore in high school. Grateful but also a bit sad to have lived a full fashion cycle.

I've seen this on Bluesky and had to try it myself. The image below was the response to the prompt: "Show me a diagram of the US presidents since Herbert Hoover, with their names and years in office under their photos" Bravo, OpenAI, bravo.

I'm obsessed w/ robots that can do real-world tasks reliably (vs general intelligence), and created this repo to track papers that have progressed here.

The new LeRobot arm calibration for SO-101 is so sick - just wiggle the joints. ∞ times better than SO-100. Props to team for innovative solution.
