I was 8 years old when this happened, and like others who've replied to this thread, I remember it vividly as one of the things that turned public opinion against the war.

I had a small amount of empathy for low-information voters or identity-Republicans who voted for Trump in 2016, who imagined he was just an ordinary R on policy issues. But there was no excuse at all in 2020 or 2024, when racism, greed, lying, and authoritarianism were what he ran on.

Cotton claims he "saw" that the boat was loaded with drugs, when it was flipped upside-down in the water? 🙄

Not to mention architectural misfeatures like the multilevel shower with slick marble surfaces, and the room where the nightstands block the (closet?) doors on either side of the bed.

This reminds me of #FridayNightZillow. The guy was supposed to be a gazillionaire and *this* tacky house was the best he could do? There's even an Ikea dresser in the bedroom!

Even if Trump or Hegseth were responsible for the illegal orders, every person in the chain of command down to the person who actually pulled the trigger is guilty. "Just following orders" is NOT a legal defense to war crimes; the only safe course is to refuse to follow all illegal orders.

Seriously, if he doesn't know what he got an MRI of, it's just more evidence that his brain is broken. The imaging techs always confirm what you're there for, they position/prep you differently for a head MRI than an abdominal one, and you get a report back on what they saw.

I'm glad I haven't retired yet. I'm still working because I like my job, not because I can't afford to retire, but the additional security of having an income and an employer-paid health plan is good in these uncertain times, too.

If ya'll remember Reagan's most famous speech, freedom has to be actively fought for and protected.... it doesn't happen by default just because the folks who would take it away from us are incompetent. 😧

Of course the reporter he's insulting is female. 🙄 Maybe the WH press corps ought to push back harder when he does this?

Whoa. This jumped out at me because the guy whose work was pirated by the AI bot is a former colleague of mine. 🤓

Sigh, Florence ADX wasn't supposed to be a place the POTUS could send people to get revenge on a third person. 😬 It's supposed to be for ultra-violent prisoners (murdering guards, etc) or prisoners so notorious that folks might try to break *in* to the prison to either kill or free them.

In my lifetime, Democrats have traditionally done better with younger candidates: JFK, Clinton, Obama. Even LBJ was only 60 when he left office. Choosing a younger candidate would also represent a symbolic break with the present D gerontocracy and fresh start for the country, which we badly need.

He's a good guy. But, given a choice, I'd rather not have a POTUS who's old enough to be on Social Security. (He's 61 now and will turn 65 a month after inauguration day in 2028.)

None at all. It's usually near the other canned fruit (peaches, etc).
