My elder son is a hospital medic currently at the top hospital in Copenhagen. He thinks the PSA test is very crude.

He was hospitalised for about 8 weeks last year with acute kidney injury caused I think by the swollen prostate pressing on his urethra. He appeared to be dying in Macclesfield Hospital so we got him moved to Stepping Hill near Stockport where he recovered then did well rehabilitating in a home.

I myself have had two retests in the last 7 years after scoring 4.9 on each occasion. The retests have been in the 2s. Certain aspects of my lifestyle boost the score and I have to modify my behaviour in the two weeks before a PSA test. Even not sitting too much and certainly no cycling.

I'm not optimistic Peter. We had to chase the Christie to get him back on hormones. We lost three weeks. I think the medics feel he's had his allotted span. I think the momentum is unstoppable now. He is determined not to return to hospital. Too many toilet visits. His ambition is to die at home.

Which begs the question: if even the cheerleaders for Brexit can see the damage it's causing, why can't Labour?
(If Labour were utterly honest about Brexit's impacts they wouldn't be fiddling around the edges of our EU deal making microscopic adjustments that won't make a shred of real difference.)

My father scored 16 at his first check about 16 years ago & got radium treatment at Christie in Manchester. He is still alive at 92. His score began increasing again after about 10 years so they put him on hormones which worked. It went beck to 20 more recently & despite the latest hormones its 34.6
