What's the point of the Phillies having money if they're just going to ask everyone for an unrealistic return on their own players?
Shouldn't they be taking the guys other teams can't afford and then giving up less talent?

The Mets knocked out the Phillies, added Soto, and are still looking to add to their offense. Their pitching isn't impressive, but does it need to be?

Is it wrong to say I'd prefer not to give up young positions players just for a slightly better chance to win it all?
I'd like to keep Miller, Crawford (and obviously Painter). Let them spend some stupid money/see what Bohm gets.

I don't see any way that the Phillies make a long term offer with the opt-outs that Soto is rumored to have been asking for.
That being said - I would make a 5 year/$500m offer, with a player opt-out every year after 2 years. Guaranteed sellout every home game, even if they raise tickets 10%.
