I’m the same. Especially the well written part. For me it shows true to character they are, and doing a good job of integrating parts of the original in without shoving it down your throat. I love so subtle you almost miss it. I love being surprised, but still with the familiar comfort of Hualian.

I can squish the ring on my finger, but it won’t go on all the way, and I don’t want my middle finger to fall off.

I do have an exception to using the word talented: it’s when I drop the same bite of food down the front of my dress 5 times in a row. That is true talent.

Exactly. In my sewing life, I learned that you absolutely cannot shortcut without knowing how to do the thing properly. Ask me how I know this? Trying all the things. And f*cking up. And learning from it. You can’t get that without putting in the time.

*whispers* sometimes I think of modern AU’s as reincarnation AU’s. Where they don’t consciously know of their past together, but they are irresistibly drawn together by their eternal fate. The red string is permanent where lifespans of everything else isn’t.

When I say I want to lose weight, I mean a ring size. I want to lose a ring size, so I can fit into the ring I wore from circa 1998 to 2018 when it would no longer fit on my middle finger. It is a double ring, so it cannot be sized. :(

This. I hate being called “talented,” because that ease and “talent” is hundreds of hours of drawing or practicing music or hand stitching. Maybe there’s an inclination, but there’s no way around putting in the work. All those things I do well, I learned how to do, and I practiced. A LOT.

The problem there was finding the centre point of the page to draw the circle with the compass, so I got out my stupid cheap wooden 12” ruler with the metal edge. Classic. ALSO HAS A RANDOM EDGE THAT DOESN’T LINE UP WITH THE END. Can someone please explain this to me?

I compromised with a metric ruler; I needed lines and grids on a CLEAR ruler for drawing. Perfect. (I really really like Japanese drawing tools, they truly are the best). EXCEPT why isn’t this 20cm? it truly is a 1/2 cm short.
