im just above Zero in my Georgie/Maddie knowledge, but i think its fairly well intentioned and has the same underlying value system of YS, but doesn't actually have a reason to exist except "what if we made a show where the hot girlfriend 'gets dressed for bed' every week?"

i hate to put it in these terms, but its almost like maybe Chuck Lorre's wife REALLY hated BBT's manic pixie twitter reply-vibe but she put it with it for the money but when he told her they were doing Young Sheldon, she made him swear to make it 'good' or she'd leave him.

Without Zoe Perry and Annie Potts - specifically, those two women - that show is off the air in 5 weeks.

And Raegan Reford as Sheldon's sister grew all the way into perfect audience-surrogate/normal-kid measuring stick that made Sheldon work.

drop any of those 3, that show dies.

and then filled it with genuinely nerd-funny plot lines about the horrors of middle school, earnest working class striving and football.

its kind of incredible.

as a TERRIBLE tv snob, i think Young Sheldon is kind of a miracle.
they had a dreary, deeply anti-woman, often-racist, sex-pest foursome-sitcom, and decided to do a split off and created....

a happy-Christian, blue-collar, small-town, utterly-wholesome Texas family show built around 3 female leads.
