331. Sonic Chaos. My favourite 8 bit Sonic game. On the a game gear, it felt so far beyond the previous games, it was nuts. Plus, you could play as Tails, and Tails could fly! Before Sonic 3 on the Mega Drive? Yes. Brilliant stuff. #365games

330. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I haven’t actually beaten this Zelda game. It’s the black sheep of the Zelda family, the weird one that plays differently. But I have gained a new appreciation for it in recent years, and do plan to sit down with it properly soon. #365games

329. Jurassic Park. This Mega Drive game was a fairly average one, but I had fun with it. I liked that you could play as a velociraptor, and I liked that playing as Alan meant you got to do the river stage from the book that wasn’t in the film. Well, sort of. Not top tier, but not bad. #365games

In fact, I’ve already started. Read the first story to him this evening. Will continue reading this alongside The Hobbit to him at bedtime.

328. Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus. It’s a sequel that was basically more of the same. But I was fine with that. The original Odyssey and Exodus were PS1 highlights for me. #365games

327. Virtua Fighter 2. Given my love for Sega arcade games, I’m surprised this is the only Virtua Fighter I’ve played. Keep your Tekkens. For me, this is the best 3D fighter of all time. Just, not the Mega Drive version. I applaud the effort, but come on. #365games

Been looking forward to this one. The art style is very different from any previous Discworld graphic nov, and I like what I see on the cover. Will it be a better adaptation? Time to find out.

326. Super Star Wars. Really an entry for the whole trilogy. Three excellent (and rock hard) SNES platformers adapting the original Star Wars trilogy. They’re superb. I can’t really pick a favourite though, but the first is the one I’ve played the most. So here it is. #365games

325. Sonic Mania. For me, the best Sonic game since 3&K. It’s just a superb throwback to the classic era. The remixed old zones are great, the new zones are superb, and the soundtrack by Tee Lopes is sublime. And Plus mode adding Mighty and Ray is the cherry on a delicious cake. #365games

324. Hunter Hunted. This was one of those PC games my best friend growing up and I spent a whole summer playing, then never touched again. I have no idea if it holds up, but we had fun. You’re a human trying to salvage parts to escape a tournament, or a minotaur hunting the human #365games

323. Pinball Dreams. Look, it’s not as good as playing actual pinball, but for my money, the Amiga version of Pinball Dreams is the next best thing. The tables are great, the physics feel right. It’s the best pinball game there has ever been. #365games

I just read Batman / Deadpool, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Grant Morrison clearly had so much writing the main story. Obviously, they know Batman, and it was very much their Batman (“Hh”) through and through. But I don’t recall them writing Deadpool.

322. Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! Inkle’s adaptation of Jackson’s four book Fighting Fantasy opus is superb. It manages to keep the essence, text and art from the books, while creating a somewhat open world adventure from them. The gold standard in adapting gamebooks to video games. #365games

321. Mysterium. Here’s one I’d love to revisit. I had it on the Gameboy, and for some reason, as a kid, I was able to gel with it, but I’d love to try and give it another shot now as a grown man. It’s a first person labyrinth RPG game, and it has a dragon on the box. That’s all I remember. #365games

320. Pocket Fighter. Or Super Gems Fighter Mini Mix, depending on where you live. Anyway, it’s a Capcom fighter, featuring Street Fighter, Red Earth and Darkstalkers characters in chibi form. It’s all played for laughs, and it’s a lot of fun, with a simplified play style. I love it. #365games

319. R-Type. My favourite side-on SHMUP, I think. It’s just so well put together, especially the arcade version. It looks and sounds great, and plays really well. Sure, it can get pretty difficult, but it makes getting better at it more rewarding. #365games

318. Sonic Generations. It wasn’t the great return to form that Mania would be, but I did have a lot of time for Generations. There were some really fun levels (as well as some frustrating ones), and it looked and sounded great. I need to play the new Shadow version. #365games

317. Batman: Arkham City. In balance, I think Asylum is my favourite Batman Arkham game, but City runs it close. Going more open world is fun, and there are some great fights, but Asylum has more memorable set pieces. And Mad Hatter is no Scarecrow substitute. #365games

317. Banjo-Tooie. Look, it’s not a patch on the original game. For me, this is the nadir of the Rare N64 collectathon back and forth style of platforming. But there is a solid game in there, with some fun characters and levels. Shame the backwards compatibility never happened. #365games

316. Super Turrican. I think this is my second favourite Turrican, after Turrican 2. It starts in familiar territory, before moving into quite different levels to previous games. And it has the ice beam, which changes the gameplay approach. Plus another awesome Chris Huelsbeck soundtrack. #365games

315. Drivin’ Force. This Amiga game was the first arcade racer I got really into. I played it a lot. You got to race different vehicles, including trucks, bikes, and, if you unlocked the bonus race, jet skis. I loved it back in the day. Would love to play it again (please @evercade.co.uk) #365games

314. Wave Race 64. I played this a lot with my other N64 owning friends back in the day. It’s a really fun racing game, but the main thing is the water effects. There are better these days, naturally, but at the time they blew my mind. And that sunset level always made me want a Capri Sun. #365games

This one should be a quick read.

313. Pokemon Snap. An on rails shooter, but instead of a gun, it’s a camera, and you just have to take the best photos of the various Pokemon. There’s a bit of depth to it, but it won’t last you too long. A fun time while you are playing it, though. #365games
