Dungeness: A few bits from around the peninsula today. Shag is still a scarce bird here, this one showing well at the fishing boats. One of 3 Glossy Ibis around the reserve today. At least 1 Garganey still hanging on, this one on Burrowes and the local Little Owl sun bathing.

Dungeness: While enjoying a sit down, a cup of tea and a chat with Dave Bunney in his front garden this afternoon, the Red-breasted Flycatcher came in for a drink with us after being fairly elusive most of the day.

Jack was good lad, he walked in from Lydd Airport not sure why the bus terminated there, but glad he got to see the BBS.

The farmer has now ploughed the field, just 100s of Med Gulls in there this afternoon, there are several 100s of Goldies on Walland it hopefully the AGP will return to the same field.

This afternoon on Walland Marsh at the back of Scotney GPs I re-found the Buff-breasted Sandpiper c1mile away, in the same field that @mjlbirder.bsky.social found a BBS a few years ago. Very nice to have it all to myself while waiting for locals to arrive.

I Spent most of my day cycling around Scotney/Walland Marsh. Around Midday I saw a distant bunch of Corvids harassing and dive bombing something obscured by a line of reeds, a little further on and I could see a brown lump which materialised into a White-tailed Eagle through the binos.

9 flew NE over Jurys Gap late morning.

Thanks Alan, the road is usually closed to through traffic during the day until the 30th. If you come in from RYE no problem, park at Jurys Gap or opposite the old sand pit, there is a lay-by that the birds can be viewed from but it has been used for fly tipping of lumps of concrete in the past.

I was out on my bike at Scotney making my way to check on the AGP, when a message came through that a Buff-breasted Sandpiper had been reported in the same field as the AGP by Colin Holter. A few minutes later I was on site watching the bird. Many thanks Colin.

Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately I was at the fishing boats where the internet is patchy at best, so I didn’t get you message until early afternoon.
