Thank you to the #HoughtonProject and #BrechfaSied for building pine marten feeder boxes for #MartensOnTheMove. These are designed for pine martens and help exclude other wildlife. They are baited with food such as peanuts or sardines and are used as a monitoring tool. #NationalLotteryHeritageFund

It was six years ago today that a man in Wuhan, China began feeling ill.

He would become the first known COVID case.

Covid is still with us. It’s still killing and disabling.

Clean the air. Wear a mask. Get your boosters.

The 3rd chapter of A.A. Milne's "Winnie-the-Pooh" is titled
"In which Pooh & Piglet Go Hunting & Nearly Catch a Woozle."

The characters find footprints in the snow, deduce the presence of a 'Woozle,' which they track.

But they're tracking their own footprints.

Let's talk about 'WOOZLE EFFECT'.

We have painful past experience of their ‘consider’ nonsense. On Brexit in particular. But Russian influence in our politics. Come the fuck on. How can exposing that be a bad thing?

People donate money to our politicians because they think it’s a good investment. Either for their business interests or to further their idea of what the country should be like.

Those are not things you should be able to buy in a democracy.

What happened to Grammarly? I dont want an intrusive ChatGTP wannabe that can humanise "my" work, make up references etc. I just want the old Grammarly that would check spelling, grammar, style and conveniently suggest improvements on the fly. Time to find an alternative.

🧵/ Today a damning parliamentary report on the state of palliative care services in England was published.

Services are patchy, underfunded & “ill-equipped” to address end-of-life needs.

Bereavement support is “frequently inaccessible.

The palliative care workforce is in a “critical” situation”.

I've noticed lately that more trolls are invading Bsky. This same feature that X has so members can check an account's country of origin would be super helpful to weed out the bad guys from causing harm here.

@badgertrust.bsky.social I've set up three camera traps for #Brockwatch. Unfortunately sheep have taken a liking to a post one of cameras is mounted on, rubbing against and generally hanging about it. Is it ok to relocate a camera to a new site or should I continue to use it throughout the study?

Quick look at the #Brockwatch trap footage prior to uploading it and got a welcome surprise: we do have badgers. The camera caught a badger moving from a dry field to investigate a more boggy one. Not the best, might have to trim some of the foliage which the camera seems to be focusing upon.
