I'm so curious about this bc I DID notice a lot of this on first listen. Travis's ex aside, there's the TLOAS reference to women who wish she'd STFU and die, the Honey references to mean women in the bathroom, all of Actually Romantic. They all seem like valid points to make, but made me curious!

I have the same issue in eldest daughter where she's making a really flowery point ("first lamb to the slaughter") and then she throws in the word "fire". I just don't particularly like when she's (deliberately) using that juxtaposition. I'm not making some pretentious point about how it isn't art.

in The Lakes, she combines both flowery language and modern language and she does it to make a point, and I didn't like it because it pulls me out of the song. I'm not saying you can't write poetry that doesn't use flowery language. I'm just saying I didn't like it on that track.
