I understand how the movie business works, but it all sounds disingenuous coming from the guy whose last three movies were the most profitable of all time. If this were Tarantino or Scorsese, yeah, I'd get the concern about profitability.

I wish I only had $530 million in profits…

The last two made more than $2 billion. How much is enough? Would $1 billion really not be enough? Also I think the bigger point is if the movie is being made just to make money and not because Cameron has a passion to tell the story, then will it be a movie worth watching?

Yeah I thought Avatar was his passion project

ROTS makes my top 4 largely because of the Stover novelization. I don't think I'd appreciate the story nearly as much without it

yeah these shows are really losing momentum. Same with Stranger Things. I thought Season 4 was fun, but it was so long ago I've kind of forgotten that Season 5 was still coming. Why is this happening? Game of Thrones released 8 seasons in about 8 years.

True. We didn’t know how good we had it

I didn’t realize you liked Voyager that much

Yeah I suspect the problem isn't influencers vs journalists so much as rightsizing budgets. Tron was never a big franchise, it's based on a cult classic, and Tron Legacy only made a modest $400 mil. Giving Ares a Star Wars level budget was insane. Hollywood really needs to get costs under control.
