Oh dear… Saying that, my MkI Polo had a disintegrating floor by the time I had done with in 1994, only lived around three years after that. Would have another in a heartbeat now. #Volkswagen #Polo

Nope, although the Derby was very pretty. Hatch still prettier, though. And my Coupé S did wear a very period Zender body kit – which later appeared on the UK 'Designer' special – and Wolfrace alloys, so it was a little different. Happy days. #Volkswagen #Polo

Interesting, will have a watch. SGS did a rather elaborate Polo Targa, too, based on the MkII breadvan. Unsure if it was a one-off or not, but a fascinating curio nonetheless. #Volkswagen #Polo

I read this quickly and thought, ‘Clio V6, wow!’

Must be Mark Bursa’s… (Parked next to my Polo back in 2023.) #Saab

Why Petula Clark (Google her, kids). She doesn’t strike me as the typical Sunbeam driver. Surely an as campaign where her ‘quote’ dnd signature is used is just dragging her ‘downtown’…

Gasp! Where are the wheel trims? 😱 (And good to see you on Wednesday.)

Yep, still an awful wheel, though. Spokes are too thin. And you can tell the Match was based on the entry level Fox; same ‘Tricolour’ upholstery, and lack of glovebox lid. Which here, looks like a selling point! Nice couple of extra colours, though: Cerise and Light Blue on the Parade.

You didn’t miss much. Weird spec. GLX on the outside, CL-ish on the inside. With quite a cheap-looking badge, too. #Volkswagen #Polo

I was going to say, they are quite awful. And weren’t they ‘Sport Räders’, a typical #Volkswagen aftermarket brand from the period. And you don’t see many Polo SEs still around these days… #Polo

I was thinking about these tonight. A great series. Still have them on VHS in the loft from probably their first on-air dates. Must revisit (again); I think Golf #GTI was my favourite.

At work he was one of our columnists, and a markets correspondent, too; I only subbed his most recent piece this past week.

Captive audience, too. Lots of pricey Hot Wheels last year. But a nice haul, especially the #Porsche brochure!

Nice. And blimey, you were in and out super-fast!
November 7, 2025 at 3:47 PM
This is true. It was quite vast last year… Remember staying until quite late, too.

I really wish I was going now… So many folks I could have caught up with, and working on a classic car mag, it maybe could have been classed as a work day, too… Have a great time!
