We've been doing Hyde Park Winter Wonderland today. Gotta admit, it was included in the tour or I'm not sure we would have bothered. Waiting in the rain on Park Lane for our coach to the hotel after five long hours there (!), I have to say I think my initial hunch was right 😬

And literally ten minutes before we leave for a six (seven?) hour coach journey, 9yo realises his Switch has no battery and it desperately needs to be charged. So both the switch and his charger have been unpacked and the suitcase is open on the sitting room floor rather than waiting at the door 🙄

I realise I'm very late to the party here and this is probably obvious to everyone, but #Plur1bus is a comment on AI, isn't it? Or it reads that way to me.

I'm off to London in the morning for an overnight stay with biggest. He's very excited. I, meanwhile, am wracked with guilt at leaving littlest, and keep cuddling him. Second time I've left him in four years and first time voluntarily 😢

Another #buyastrangerabook offer.

After a shock bereavement, @norfolkbookworm.bsky.social will buy someone a copy of either Louis de Bernieres' Captain Corelli's Mandolin or A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes in memory of someone who loved Greece as much as them?

Had a really lovely day with my friend. As predicted, we went to a cafe for 90 minutes, shopped for 45, had an hour long lunch, shopped for another hour and then off to a cafe before home time 🤣 A bit of hassle with my train being cancelled but back in Durham now, tired and thankful for friends ❤️

Alright, you lot. You don't ask me how much I spent at Betty's today and I won't tell. Ok? Then we can allllll pretend I don't need to remortgage my house 😬

Train station is heaving 😬 The older I get the more busy places stress me out.

Feeling dangerously as if I'm teetering on the edge of coming down with something and nope, no, absolutely not, I have a weekend in London coming up and far too much to do in work including a move in Library Management System so no you don't, immune system.

I'm going to York with my friend tomorrow, she's travelling from Oxford. I see her once a year in December and I love it. We meet and decide we need tea. Visit a shop, decide we're hungry and go somewhere for lunch. Visit another two shops and then decide we really need tea again before train home.

My littlest is 4 today!
He woke up at 4.45.
Him: Is it my birthday today?
Me: It is! Happy birthday! It's also very early. Shall we go back to sleep?
Him: *stands up* I'm seeing how tall I am now! Look! I'm four! I'm SO TALL!

Had a stupid little wobble before when I looked at what we had out for 3yo's birthday in the morning - one present from us, one from his bro, cards from extended family through the post. I thought about the huge displays you see on Insta now for birthdays and wondered if we were short changing him.

Had a lovely evening watching 9yo play in his first ever brass band concert tonight. These things can sometimes be a bit dicey for him but all went swimmingly! And now I'm steeling myself for the fact my baby turns four in the morning 😭 How did that happen?!

Happy December, pals x
Shaping up to be a bit of a manic one for us, starting today with the first of the Christmas concerts. First time 9yo will have publicly played his trombone with his junior brass band ❤️

3yo, earlier: 'This film is called Jurassic World!'
Me: 'That's right! How did you know that?'
3yo: 'See those words on the screen Mammy? They say [slowly and clearly, as if talking to an idiot] A-Rassic... World.'

I was going to share a photo of my Christmas tree but it's wonkier than ever so here, have a picture of our nativity set for the seconds it was up before it got hot wheels parked in it instead 🎄

Fast forwarding the final of Drag Race UK to the final lip sync because I just don't care who wins and I don't think I can put myself through another episode just to tie it up.

Phil is out tonight so I'm catching up on last night's Graham Norton so I can appreciate Alexander Skarsgard in peace 😍

All the celebs look very stressed about this. It's making it an uncomfortable watch, even though the dances themselves seem ok so far. #scd #strictly

Amber is technically very good but watching her dance brings me no joy. #scd #strictly

If you see a very tired looking mother walking around a North East Tesco's today, with a child with a t-shirt on backwards and shoes on the wrong feet, please know that I did try, but he's determined to do everything for himself at the moment and goodness, I am tired 😭
