I'm letting 9yo sleep in in the morning, will take him into school when he wakes. School are pretty good with letting us be flexible during Advent as he often struggles anyway. Fortunately I've taken a day off work but that was meant to be for a birthday pamper, I reckon I'll be sleeping instead.

As far as Hartlepool, and then my dad is meeting us. We've already had to swap coaches so we're just outside of London now 😭 Worth it to see his face but I'm very glad I've taken tomorrow off work! X

Oh we're just going for a general potter and then grab a quick something before the show - no way I'm Christmas shopping in Central London 😱 x

It was far too long to be honest. We explored it quite leisurely and were still ready to leave a good two and a half hours before we were due to be picked up.

It's obviously very popular, just I think not for us. So loud and busy and really bloody expensive! We're hoping to go to Covent Garden in the morning before the show to have a mooch around 🤗 I think he'll like it. Then I'm going to sleep all the way home to avoid more games of Uno 🤣

Only got J with me, N is at home with his dad which I think is a relief because he would have been in meltdown with the noise 😬 The trip is really to see Wicked which is tomorrow, and J LOVES it so I'm hoping that makes it worthwhile for him. And seeing the animal monument opposite Hyde Park ❤️

9yo enjoyed the rides, we went on the big wheel, and got a few bits and bobs at the market. But we were dropped off at 2 and the coach isn't leaving until 8pm 😭 (doors opening at 7.15). It was so busy, so loud, so overwhelming.

It's hard, isn't it? Nearly all of my uni friends live in London and we all have young families, so it's been literally years since we've all been together. I feel very grateful that this friend is willing to travel every year for our Christmas shopping day!

It was honestly wonderful ❤️ We only get to see each other once a year so we always have lots of catching up to do! 🥰
