Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

This public-private partnership (yes, you, dear Ontario taxpayer, are paying the dividends that will flow to the U.S.) says, in the government's own words, "over 350 new fully private beds". news.ontario.ca/en/release/1...
That means 1 person to the room. Now. Maybe later, something you can pay for.

The CMA spent a year studying public and private health models and consulting with more than 10,000 Canadians on the balance between the two. The evidence is clear: where a parallel private health system operates, both health outcomes and access to care are worse.

Also here is a map of all the fallen Torontonians in the First World War.

Full Credit to @patrickcain.bsky.social for this mapping work.

The First World War took the lives of about 2,900 Toronto residents, or about two per cent of the city’s male population. This map owes a lot to the Canadian Great War Project, which was generous about sharing its research. /2 t.co/Z2HMqKg2dk

A rather somber piece of cartography. A map with details of every soldier from the city of Toronto and fell in WW2.

Really brings into perspective the sacrifice paid citizenry of Toronto for the greater good. Also a morbid reminder of how compact the city was back then.
