I think this is doubly true for examining our own history; as much as there has been a "rise in fascism", we also have indigenous people, black people, numerous territories and communities who only ever felt the fascism at full force in america and many of whom spent entire lifetimed warning of this
I think we should be looking at modern parallels in regards to American fascism and not fiction novels.
