That allows Pulisic to break off of Sargent on counters and for him to be the 10 with possession (where I think they will be most of the game)

I honestly want to rewatch bc their shape was so interesting. What I think they did was this with a rotating and fluid box midfield.

This was what they looked like in possession in the final third. Even when Tillman came in.. Tilman stayed in that lower midfield duo. So far Poch has played with the box midfield every game. IF he does so again- who is deep this time?

He's not really playing as a RW. He's playing as a midfielder who goes wide. Don't trust the graphics. They are guessing. My guess is its something more like this. Its that box mid he's going for.

The base/nonnegotiable structure for Poch (I think) is the box midfield. Wes and Pulisic in the 10 spots- that's great. Tillman as a deep distributing 6 (or Busio or Morris) works. Musah was a midfielder going wide. Even when he brought in Tilman- he moved Tilman deep with Musah and Wes still high

Apparently not. Musah hasn't been playing as a rw. He's been playing as an 8/midfielder who moves into the wide right zone. I don't trust this graphic either. This means Musah or wes will have to play deeper and I don't think that's where either is best
